DDS Dates of Implementation
June 6 – Federal funding (waiver) approved
July 19 – Statewide Self-Determination Advisory Committee convened by the State Council on Developmental Disabilities in Sacramento/Testing of orientation
July 20-August 31 – Local committees provide feedback to DDS on orientation
September 17 – Final date to send in names for SD lottery
October 1 – Random selection (lottery) of 2,500 names for phase-in of SDP
Month of October – DDS conducts train the trainer sessions for regional centers and local advisory committees
November onward – Orientations, participants begin self-determination
NEW DATES: Westside Regional Center Information Meetings-
(to sign up for the lottery; all sessions held at Westside Regional Center Board Room)
Tuesday, July 10, 6-8 pm (instead of committee meeting) – In English
Wednesday, July 25, 10 am-12 pm – In Spanish
