In 2021, staff across departments collaborated to develop a comprehensive online training program for parents, caregivers, and adult individuals with I/DD who Westside Regional Center supports. Our goal was to ensure equitable access to information about services available to those we support, either at Westside Regional Center (WRC) or in their local community, and how to obtain those services.
The “Family Welcome Experience” online training program contains three courses for the following populations: Early Start, School-Aged Youth, and Adults. Each course has a minimum of 5 modules (groups of trainings) completed at a self-guided pace.
Each training video contains helpful resources that individuals can download onto their computer or smartphone, such as brochures, booklets, and flyers.
