Dear Westside Regional Center Community,
In a letter dated April 9, 2026 the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) found Westside Regional Center (WRC) to be out of compliance with the requirements of Section 4640.6 (c) of the Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC). As such, we will be hosting a virtual community meeting on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. to solicit community input related to our plan of correction.
Please RSVP here to participate.
Based on the caseload data submitted to DDS on March 10, 2026, WRC was out of compliance for individuals served in the following areas:
- Those on the Home and Community-Based Services Waiver
- WRC ratio: 1:73
- Required ratio: 1:62
- Individuals served who are under six years old
- WRC ratio: 1:54
- Required ratio: 1:40
- Individuals who moved from a DC within the last 12 months
- WRC ratio: 1:85
- Required ratio: 1:45
- Individuals with Low or No Purchase of Service (POS)
- WRC ratio: 1:40
- Required ratio: 1:41
WIC Section 4640.6 (f) requires that a plan of correction be developed by the regional center that does not comply with the caseload ratio requirement for two consecutive reporting periods. The final plan will be developed, following input from the state council, local organizations representing clients, family members, regional center employees, service providers and other interested parties.
