December 1 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Danneker Boardroom, 3rd Floor

The development of social and emotional competence, like self-regulation, self-confidence, and social skills, depends on the quality of care, communication, and  nurturing stimulation that a child experiences. This training will allow parents and caregivers to support the social and emotional development of children birth to five by identifying: (1) unique qualities of your child, (2) how social interactions shape developing brains,(3) impact of stress on family, and (4) self-care activities that can assist in stress management. Presenter: Maricella Mendez-Sherwin, PhD. This event is co-sponsored by Friday 5 LA and WRC. Please note that WRC will be providing limited childcare for this event for children birth to 13. Please call 310 258 4063 no later than 4 days prior to each session to reserve childcare  *Please note that the same training is being offered on 12/1 & 12/15.
