Dear Westside Friends and Neighbors,
It is amazing that in this time of physical distancing our sense of community seems to be stronger than ever. The extra bag of groceries you pick up to save your neighbor a trip . . . the call to the elderly couple down the block, just to make sure they are doing okay . . . a Zoom meeting to keep your book club alive . . . it’s all about staying connected during the tough times.
I am writing today to ask you to consider making a donation to Westside Regional Center’s Client Help Fund. This fund was created to address the exceptional needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. In this time of heightened need, we are committed to expanding our interventions to provide home delivery of the services and resources these individuals cannot access on their own. We are preparing to provide emergency food, face coverings, diapers, wipes, adult briefs, feminine hygiene products, cleaning supplies and a host of other items as needed. We have already started our outreach, in partnership with many of the agencies and organizations we work with who are organizing the delivery side of the project.
People with disabilities are amongst the most vulnerable to COVID-19. This virus spreads easily and can be particularly dangerous for people with preexisting conditions especially those with intellectual and developmental disabilities who might also have compromised immune systems. This is a part of our community that requires an additional level of assistance right now. Can you help?
I know the pandemic is putting huge demands on us all – emotional, physical, financial – but consider for a moment how much more daunting those demands would be if you were facing them with a developmental disability. Then, take another minute and make a gift. Your generosity will give resources and relief to a friend and neighbor in need. To donate, please visit https://westsiderc.org/donate/. Any amount will help!
Thank you for considering this request. We’re all in this together and that’s how we’ll get through it – together. Stay safe and well. Let’s look at this problem from the point of view of quality improvement using online gaming technique. Popular online games have long used technology that engages them in a very strong and complete way.
Best,
