the California Telephone Access Program. Did you know that free telephones
and adaptive equipment are available for many individuals that we support?
Come and see what is available, find out what the best option is for
you, and how you can sign up for this FREE program. The California
Telephone Access Program (CTAP) distributes telecommunications equipment
and services to individuals certified as having difficulty using the
telephone. CTAP is a California State mandated program, under governance
of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). Equipment and
some network services are available at no charge to eligible consumers.
Californians who are deaf, hard of hearing, speech impaired, blind,
or who have low vision, cognitively impaired, or have restricted mobility,
are eligible to receive FREE equipment. All that is needed is an application
for CTAP and certification by a medical doctor, a licensed audiologist,
a qualified state agency, or a hearing aid dispenser. Please call
to reserve your seat. This is a free opportunity.

hosting this FREE training. Communication is always a challenge; it
is even more challenging when someone is non-verbal. Just because someone
is nonverbal, it doesn’t mean that they cannot communicate with you.
This training will briefly define what communication is and what it
means to communicate. A model will be presented that shows the relationship
between verbal and non-verbal communication with an in-depth discussion
about body language, senses, and the environmental factors that are
essential to non-verbal communication. Our training will conclude with
a discussion on the prompting skills that can be used to facilitate
communication with individuals who are non-verbal. This training is
appropriate for all parents, families, service providers and educators.
