Families of our clients play a key role in their child's life. In addition to nurturing, caring and providing for a child's well being, your responsibilities include understanding special needs and the services that are available to help.

Support Groups – Family members often find that sharing their feelings and experiences in a supportive setting can be meaningful and helpful. Westside Regional Center has provided a list of support groups on this site to assist you.

Resources – To be an effective advocate for your child, you need information from Westside, service providers, and schools, as well as community programs and resources that can assist you. To help you, Westside Regional Center has also included a section on resources that we hope will be useful to you.

Camp Is Coming! Attention Parents! The school year is more than half over. Do you know what your child will be doing this summer? The American Camping Association has recently published the 2004 List of Accredited Camps. ACA also offers great information about how to choose a camp and questions to ask when considering a good match that will meet the needs of your child.
